On Friday Oct 2nd, the Aurora Ledyard Historical Society cordially invites you and your family to an evening of Irish heritage, 7:00-8:00 pm at the Morgan Opera House.

“The Irish Dresser Series: An Evening with Author Cynthia Neale and The Crane Irish Dancers” features readings by author Cynthia Neale from her Norah novels and her humorous cookbook Laughter in the Kitchen, interspersed with performances by The Crane Irish Dancers.

Cynthia Neale is a native of the Finger Lakes region currently living in New Hampshire. Her series “The Irish Dresser” arose from her deep interest in the tragedies and triumphs of the Irish during the Great Hunger; it follows young immigrant Norah McCabe from her daring journey to America as a child to adulthood. Crane Irish Dance, directed by Jesse Hoselton, is a school promoting the dance, music and language of Ireland to students at locations in King Ferry and Auburn.

Cynthia Neale’s books and samples of her baked goods will be available. The Morgan Opera House is located at 370 Main Street, Aurora, above the Aurora Free Library. This is a family-friendly event and all are invited.
